  • Dragon Con: 09/01-09/04/2017 –  Volunteer at one largest pop culture conventions in the world!  Everyone who signs up to volunteer by the first of August and is accepted into a department will receive a unique volunteer lanyard and t-shirt: Volunteer!
  • Kashi Atlanta Street Meals Program: 09/05/2017- Join Kashi from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. at Kashi Atlanta in Candler Park to make lunch for homeless men, women, and children in downtown Atlanta.  Volunteers will be doing food preparation, including chopping vegetables, and cooking to prepare a healthy, vegetarian meal to serve 100+ on Wednesday afternoon.  This is an opportunity to interact with positive people, intent on making a difference.  Kashi practices the yogic principles of nurturing, healing, compassion, inner growth, and community service: Volunteer!
  • MARTA Hackathon: 09/08-09/09/2017- the Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority (MARTA) will be hosting its 3rd MARTA Hackathon at The Garage.  The goal of the Hackathon is to attract creative minds in an effort to develop solutions that will in turn provide better transit services for MARTA riders. The participants will consist of approximately 300 coders, designers, and business developers of various ages and backgrounds. As a MARTA hackathon volunteer, you will be able to meet and be exposed to up-and-coming technology entrepreneurs, coders and cutting edge thinkers: Volunteer!
  •  Kaiser Permanente Corporate Run/Walk: 09/07/2017 – Volunteer at one of Atlanta’s largest corporate run/walk. The Kaiser Permanente Corporate Run/Walk & Fitness Program is designed to promote health, wellness and fitness among metro Atlanta companies and their employees. A portion of proceeds benefits the Atlanta Community Food Bank and Back on My Feet: Volunteer!
  • Living Wall Conference: 09/08-09/17/2017 – The Living Walls Conference unites street artists and scholars from across the globe to engage in meaningful discourse about public spaces.   • Beltline Lantern Parade Marshal: 09/09/2017 – Volunteers help with crowd control by maintaining space around the bands and large lanterns; assisting parade-goers with street crossings; and helping to keep the trail clean by picking up trash and recyclables. You get a cool Lantern Parade Marshal shirt designed by Chantelle Rytter herself! You get a foam glow stick! And, you get to walk with the rockstars: Volunteer!
  • Concrete Jungle’s Tiger Apple Pick: 09/09/2017 – Join Concrete Jungle to glean from the Stack Orchard in Tiger, GA.  The property is nestled in the mountains with acres of apple trees and a beautiful vineyard. Come glean apples to donate to the Food Bank of Northeast Georgia and stick around to hike, swim or go to one of the fun fall festivals happening in N. Ga: the Chattahoochee Mountain Fair or the Mountain Music Festival in Vogel State Park: Volunteer!
  • Dragon Boat Race 2017: 09/09/2017 –  Ascend Greater Atlanta is seeking out paddlers to volunteer at the Atlanta’s 2017 Dragon Boat Festival. This is fun opportunity to give back and learn more about Chinese culture at the same time: Volunteer!

  • Atlanta Goose Island Migration Week w/Keep America Beautiful: 09/09/2017 –  Goose Island Beer Co. is heading to Atlanta on their #migrationweek tour and they’re partnering with Keep America Beautiful, Keep Atlanta Beautiful Commission & AGLanta to help beautify the Urban Food Forest at Browns Mill! The goal of this project is to mulch a multi-use trail through the Urban Food Forest on Browns Mill Road (UFFBM). Goose Island will sponsor a happy hour for volunteers after the project is complete: Volunteer! 
  • Free Humana Atlanta 5K: 09/09/2017 – Come Rock a Free 5K, sponsored by Humana and the Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon Series. Participants are ask to donate to the The Atlanta Community Food Bank in an effort to support the local community: Sign up!
  • Teamworks! Kickoff: 09/09/2017 –  The TeamWorks! program brings together volunteers through service projects and team building activities to create a unique, team-based service learning program.   • Unite for Hurricane Relief: 09/11/2017 – United Way of Greater Atlanta is partnering with the Atlanta Braves and the Chick-fil-A Foundation to help those impacted by Hurricane Harvey. Volunteer to sort, organize and assemble care packages: Volunteer! 
  • Park Pride’s 9/11 National Day of Service: Bring Your Dog to Work[day]!: 09/09/2017 –  Ever wanted to volunteer alongside your dog? Then load up your pooch and come on out to the South Bend Park Dog Park to help with a variety of projects to recognize the 9/11 National Day of Service. Volunteers will help with mulching worn out areas, erosion control as well as clearing some unwanted vegetation from along the fenceline: Volunteer!
  • RAGTRADE Atlanta: application due 09/15/2017 – RAGTRADE Atlanta is taking applications for volunteers to help with the RAGTRADE ATLANTA Fashion event in October 2017.   • Freemont Foundation’s Represent Yourself 5K Run/Walk: 09/16/2017 – The race will take place at Grant Park. Proceeds benefit scholarships for high school, undergraduate and graduate students nationwide studying the sciences and to provide free ACT and SAT preparation to high school students.   • Yellow River Trash Bash 2017: 09/16/2017 – Join the fun and support a partnership with the Yellow River Water Trail, Gwinnett County Parks & Rec, Gwinnett County Dept of Water Resources and Gwinnett Clean & Beautiful for this Rivers Alive event. Volunteers will collect trash around Yellow River Park in Gwinnett, adjoining roads, and several nearby bridge crossings of the Yellow River. The river clean-up team will collect trash from the water, stream bed and river banks providing water levels are optimal. T-shirts and pizza provided: Volunteer!

  • Trees Atlanta & King of Pops Canopy Cooler: 09/22/2017 – This year’s Atlanta Canopy Conference, Giving Voice to Tree Protection, will focus on effective tree protection ordinances and policies, organizations and people who advocate for trees, and practical strategies and tactics to better conserve Atlanta’s canopy cover. Volunteers are needed to help check in guests, run payments, direct parking, and promote Trees Atlanta’s mission while enjoying the art, live music, and good times at the Cooler!   • Youth United 2017 Kickoff Project: 09/23/2017 – Youth United – United Way’s student service corps – will be kicking off its second year with a pop-up project. Last year at their launch, they made 250 snack packs for kids in Atlanta. This year, they’re doubling the efforts with a goal of 500. They need all the help we can get, so come out and join the fun! It will be an action packed 2.5 hours, and YU has some fun surprises in store to keep our volunteers motivated to meet the challenge. Expect food, a DJ, and fun. Volunteer! 
  • Swim Across America – Atlanta Open Water Swim: 09/23/2017 – This is an open water swim at Lake Lanier, organized to “Make Waves to Fight Cancer.”Proceeds from the 2017 swims support pediatric oncology and leukemia research at the Swim Across America Lab, located at Aflac Cancer & Blood Disorders Center, Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta: Volunteer!
  • GWTW Girls in Aviation Day: 09/23/2017 – Girls in Aviation Day (GIAD) will be held at the Delta Flight Museum from 12:00am-4:00pm and hosted by the Atlanta Gone with the Wind Chapter of Women in Aviation.   • Wingfoot XC Classic: 09/23/2017 – The third annual Wingfoot XC Classic will feature One Mile, 3K and 5K races on grass, dirt and gravel. The course will be a unique single loop with traditional European cross country elements such as hay bales or logs.   • Community Cleanup @ Standing Peachtree Park: 09/23/2017- Join Chattahoochee NOW for a community cleanup at Standing Peachtree Park- Atlanta’s hidden park along the Chattahoochee River.   • Sunday Soul To-Go: 09/24/2017- This unique activation gathers volunteers to prepare and deliver hot to-go meals for senior citizens living in assisted living facilities and to those experiencing homelessness throughout the city of Atlanta. Volunteers will also spread some soulful love by sending “soul note” words of love and encouragement to those that will be served.   • Westside Volunteer Corps September Day of Service: 09/29/2017 –  Join Westside Volunteer Corps on September 29th as they partner with the English Avenue and Ashview Heights Neighborhood Associations. These two historically significant neighborhoods have identified key beautification projects that will clear debris from recent hurricanes and remove trash and unwanted items block by block.   • State Farm Good Neighbor Day: 09/30-10/01/2017- Join State Farm, Hands On Atlanta, and the Boys & Girls Club of Metro Atlanta as they build school supply kits, create literacy kits, and paint a mural to help benefit education in the community.   • Mercedes-Benz Stadium 5K/Walk Like MADD: 09/30/2017 – Join the Atlanta Falcons, Atlanta United FC, Atlanta Track Club and Mothers Against Drunk Driving for the 2017 Mercedes-Benz Stadium 5K/Walk Like MADD and be a part of something special. All  participants have the opportunity to finish on the Atlanta Falcons 50-yard line inside Mercedes-Benz Stadium.  100% of the proceeds go to Mothers Against Drunk Driving Georgia.   • Atlanta Women’s Build: 09/30-11/18/2017 – The Atlanta Women’s Build (AWB) is a grassroots effort led by individual women who raise funds to sponsor and construct an Atlanta Habitat for Humanity home for a working mother and her family. Over eight weeks, women volunteers work side-by-side with the homebuyer to construct the house, offering a unique opportunity to highlight the ways that Atlanta Habitat empowers women and builds stability in communities.   • PICH Bike Share Mural @ Castleberry Hill: 09/30/2017- Add a splash of color to the Castleberry Hill Arts District!   • Shepherd Center: Shepherd Center is a private, not-for-profit hospital specializing in medical treatment, research and rehabilitation for people with spinal cord injury, brain injury, multiple sclerosis, spine and chronic pain, and other neuromuscular conditions.   • Honor Flight Conyers: Honor Flight of Conyers is a local chapter or “Hub” of the Honor Flight Network, a non profit program created solely to honor America’s veterans for all their sacrifices by flying these American heroes to Washington, DC to visit and reflect at their memorials.   • Samaritan’s Purse Hurricane Harvey Response Team: Samaritan’s Purse mobilizes staff and equipment and enlists thousands of volunteers to provide emergency aid to victims of tornadoes, hurricanes, wildfires, floods, and other natural disasters in the United States. They have disaster relief units, staff, and volunteers in Texas working from five locations, including two in the Houston area. Over the next weeks and months, there is a huge need for volunteers to help restore impacted areas in Texas. They need an army of volunteers—as many as 1,000 a day. Please join them: Volunteer!
