  • ZeroLandfill Atlanta 2017: 08/05/2017 – The International Interior Design Association of Georgia is looking for volunteers to help upcycle discontinued architectural and interior design samples!   • Atlanta Giving Boutique : 08/05/2017 – The Giving Boutique is a clothing drive and boutique pop-up shop for homeless youth. The goal is to provide a real shopping experience, where items were not thrown on tables or in trash bags, but actually hung up, color coordinated, washed and even new!   • Kicking for A CAUSE – Benefit Kickball Event: 08/05/2017 – As if playing kickball all day isn’t incentive enough to register.. how about helping bring awareness to people living with HIV & AIDS in Atlanta?   • Apple Harvest with Concrete Jungle: 08/06/2017 – Join Concrete Jungle at Apple Mountain golf course to harvest their beautiful apple trees. Picking will end by 11:30 so volunteers can head over to Lake Rabun to cool off: Volunteer! 
  • Living Rooms PARKing Day on Buford Highway: 08/10/2017 – PARK(ing) Day is an annual global event where parking spaces are temporarily transformed into public spaces. In conjunction with this year’s Living Walls Conference and its marquee event, the Buford Highway Night Market, We Love BuHi invites designers and volunteers to participate in sponsoring, creating, and transforming parking spaces into ‘Living Rooms’ from September 15-17, 2017.   • Hack the Panther Express: 08/10/2017 –  Join Clark Atlanta University at their inaugural freshman orientation hackathon. This will be the largest hackathon Atlanta has ever seen, so come be a part of it! They are looking for volunteers to serve as mentors and support the teams: Volunteer!
  • NeighborWoods Project with Trees Atlanta: 08/12/2017 – Join the NeighborWoods team this Saturday morning to learn how to properly care for trees by mulching, weeding, and pruning. Meet other community members by volunteering and grabbing lunch together after the project. Founded in 1985, Trees Atlanta works to address Atlanta’s tree loss, protect its forests, and create new green space: Volunteer!
  • RedTeam GA’s Red Race 5K Run/Walk: 08/12/2017- RedTeam GA is community of students and teachers all across Georgia working together to benefit the medical field. RedTeam GA’s inaugural Red Race 5K Run and Walk will be held on August 12th, 2017 in Newtown Park. The proceeds from the race will go to American Cancer Society: Sign Up!
  • Eyeglass RecEYEcling Program: 08/12/2017 – The Georgia Lions Lighthouse Foundation’s Eyeglass Recycling Program provides cleaned and refurbished eyeglasses to developing countries throughout the world. Volunteers are needed to sort/wash donated glasses: Volunteer!
  • Living Wall Conference Volunteer Orientation : 08/12/2017 – Living Walls, The City Speaks, is an annual conference on street art and urban ism. The conference will be 9/8-9/17/2017.  This year, they will be partnering with We Love BuHi to bring installations and art to the Buford Highway area in the hopes of highlighting a place so rich in multicultural diversity.  They are looking for artist assistants and people who can help with other tasks at the conference.   • Relief on the River Fundraiser: 08/12/2017 – Bring your family, bring your friends and tube down the river with World Relief! $20 per person. Half of the proceeds will go to support refugees resettled through World Relief: Join the Fun!

  • AREA 13.1 Terrestrial Half Marathon and 5K: 08/19/20117 – This is a evening half marathon and 5K to benefit theBwanali Chipole Victory Inc.,  a nonprofit organization that is building an orphanage in Malawi, Africa: Volunteer!
  • Piedmont Park Arts Festival: 08/19-08/20/2017 – The Piedmont Park Summer Arts & Crafts Festival is a 2-day outdoor event with an emphasis on the visual arts and family fun presented by the Atlanta Foundation for Public Spaces.   • The Pick of Totality with Concrete Jungle: 08/23/2107 – Join Concrete Jungle for an apple picking and eclipse viewing party.  The picking will in be Brasstown, NC–right smack dab in the middle of the eclipse’s path of  the totality. Picking starts around 10 am and will wrap up just before the eclipse so you can experience the sun’s shadow and visibility of many other planets and stars in the middle of the day: Volunteer!

  • Voiceless Premier: 08/25/2017 – Volunteer at Love Beyond wall’s premier of the documentary “Voiceless.” The documentary is about a couple of guys’ journey across the country to raise awareness about poverty in the US and the stories they captured along the way: Volunteer! 
  • Westside Volunteer Corps Service Day: 08/26/2017- Help revitalize Atlanta’s historic Westside.   • Volunteer with Young Government Leaders at the Feds Meet Feds Expo: 08/30-08/31/17 – Volunteers are needed to be present at the table for Young Government Leaders on August 30th and August 31st. During this time, you’ll be able to interact with other federal employees and tell them about YGL: Volunteer!
  • Museum Day Live!: Smithsonian magazine’s annual Museum Day will be on August 23, 2017. Museums nationwide will offer free entry to anyone who holds a branded ticket. Registration for tickets will open 8/25/17.
  • Atlanta Humane Society: The Atlanta Humane Society is waiving its adoption fees for anyone choosing adopt an adult pet this week. All dogs and cats aged six months and up will go home for free from 7/31-8/6. The mission of the Atlanta Humane Society is to improve animal welfare in the southeastern United States by providing quality animal services including preventative initiatives, education, advocacy and adoption of animals into permanent loving homes.   • Free fab’rik – free shopping sprees for girls in need: Free shopping sprees are a chance for girls in need to experience the thrill of boutique shopping, but without the pressure of price tags. As a personal stylist, you’ll be paired with a girl to help her shop, while reminding her that she is beautiful inside and out. This will be a private shopping event, where the girls will select the perfect outfit to take home free of charge. You will not only learn her style, but also share your stories: Volunteer!

  • Task Leader for Hands on Atlanta Day –  Hands On Atlanta Day is on Saturday, October 7th. They are seeking Task Leaders to take on a leadership role and lead volunteers into service. All projects will start at 9:00am and end around 12:30pm or 1:00pm. This is the largest day of service in the southeast– thousands to participate in service!   • Hope World Wide REVAMP After School Program: REVAMP serves underprivileged youth ages 6-12 who attend Title I schools, with approximately 50% of those students receiving free or reduced-price meals each day. Volunteers will have an opportunity to make a difference by serving underprivileged youth in various roles. They need a range of volunteers including drivers, mentors, interest club leaders, coaches, and tutors: Volunteer!
  • The Helpful Hot Dog: The Helpful Hot Dog is a weekly nonprofit event along the Beltline entrance of Ponce City Market. They team up with guest chefs from Atlanta to help prepare and sell specialty hot dogs every Saturday from 12-3pm. Proceeds support local charities that combat issues affecting our community such as poverty, food deserts, LGBTQ rights, housing justice, and undocumented youth. If you love hot dogs and love supporting great causes, check them out.   • AMIS’s Amigo Program: The AMIS (Atlanta Ministry with International Students) Amigo Program is an opportunity for volunteers to share their culture and friendship with international students. The commitment is simple: an initial communication through phone, email or text; share a meal or an event together; and continue the friendship as you both see feasible. Amigo volunteers are local Atlanta families and individuals who extend friendship to an international student on a one-to-one basis.
